Multi Activity Tour

Day 1: 

Tirana - Shkoder

Albania Adventure guides will take you from "Nene Tereza" airport and we will continue our journey towards Shkodra, the most important city in northern Albania.

Previously we will stop to have lunch at a traditional restaurant to have a taste of the typical Albanian food.

We will visit the Castle of Rozafa which is set on a rocky hill at the entrance of the city of Shkodra. This castle was used as the center of the Illyrian stronghold, mentioned for the first time during the reign of King Gent, who ruled from 181 BC until 168 BC.

Also we will visit the Cathedral of the city. The Cathedral of Shkodra is called the Great Church because, at the time of construction, was one of the largest churches in Balkan. Then we will visit the Mosque in Shkodra. The New Mosque, Ebu Bekr, is the largest in Albania and among the largest in Balkan. It is worth noting that one of the greatest values of the Albanian people is the coexistence and the religious tolerance.

A visit to the Clock Tower of the nineteenth century. The clock tower known in history as the Clock Tower of Inglizi regards to the period of medieval aristocracy. The Clock Tower, along with the house next door was built with the funds of the English Lord Paget.

Later we will have dinner and accommodation will be in a hotel in the center of Shkodra.

Day 2: 

Shkoder - Theth

Once we have eaten breakfast our journey towards the Albanian Alps will start, Theth.

Theth is called by foreign tourists “Europe’s last paradise".

The village is located in the north of the Valley of Shal, between the Alps with a rare beauty. Natural resources of the area are linked together with cultural and historical heritage of local residents, thus forming, the most important bases for tourism development. Regarding to this fact Georg Heinshemer a famous mountaineer has written about Theth considering it, undoubtedly, as the most suitable place for tourism in Northern Albania Mountains, comparing it with the beautiful areas of Tyrol, Austria.

In Theth we will accommodate in a host home 350 years old, restored in 2012.

Later we will visit Theth’s valley, The Isolation Tower, Waterfall of Grunas, Blue Eye, Theth’s church, which is also one of the symbols of this village.

The Isolation Tower is typical of this area. A fort built at the end of the village and used by the whole village. It was the shelter of those families that because of blood feud were forced to close in there (all men over age 14). Only the women of the house were free to go out and work the soil before the tower. Today the tower is the most visited place and is located in an area with a great tourist value. 


Day 3: 

Theth - Arapi’s Peak

This day will start very early, as we will have to climb to the top of Arapi, with a height of 2217 m and a difficulty level T4, a journey which will last for about 9 hours.

Arapi’s Peak is one of the highest peaks that rises in the end of Theth’s valley, from where we possess an amazing view of the entire valley.

Lunch, which we will have taken it with us from morning, will consume it in a place called Neck of Peja 1900 m, after we have descended Arapi’s Peak.

Day 4: 

Theth - Apollonia - Llogara National Park

After breakfast is eaten we will depart towards the ancient city of Apollonia, which is among the largest in the Adriatic basin and the most mentioned among 30 other cities with the same name, from the antique time.

It was established around the beginning of the IV century BC. Apollonia’s ruins were discovered in the early nineteenth century.

Lunch will be eaten in the coastal city of Vlora, in a sea line restaurant.

Afternoon we will continue our journey towards Llogara National Park, a park which in 1966 was declared as a National Park by the Albanian Government.

Dinner and accommodation will be in a hotel-restaurant inside the park. 


Day 5: 

Llogara National Park - White Roads Beach - Bay of Gjipea

Once we eat breakfast we will be leaving toward the White Road Beach, where we will prepare the kayaks and we will take the necessary instructions for their correct use.

The kayaks that we will use for today adventure are 2-seats kayaks, suitable for sea expeditions. For about 2 hours we will traverse with kayak some virgin beaches, as well as some other very popular beaches in the south coast e.g. Palasa, Drymades, Dhermi, Pirate's Cave, the extraordinary Beach and Canyon of Gjipea, in which we will raise the camp.

In this canyon Albania Adventure guides have created over 70 itineraries for rocky climbing, ranging from the simplest 4b that can be used by people who have no experience in rock climbing but can climb to the top in order to enjoy the fantastic landscape. In this canyon there are also routes up to 8b + for professional climbers.

Lunch will be prepared together, barbecue.

In the afternoon we will do rock climbing.

Day 6: 

Gjipea Bay - Coastal Village Jale

After we eat breakfast will do some rock climbing in one of the routes generated by Albania Adventure guides also this morning we can enjoy the wonderful beach of Gjipesa.

A delicious barbecue for lunch.

In the afternoon we will start the journey with kayaks again to the coastal village of Jale, where we will accommodate for this night.

Day 7: 

Coastal Village of Jale

We will pass this day in the coastal village of Jale.

Once we eat breakfast we will begin a new adventure in this part of the Albanian Riviera. First diving will be on the left side of Jala’s bay, where because of the steep slopes is very well protected and almost virgin

After the lunch break, the second immersion will be on the right side of the bay. This is the ideal place for diving, since there is a small limestone island which offers a large number and variety of underwater life creatures.



Day 8: 

Coastal Village of Jale - Saranda

After breakfast is eaten we will depart towards the town of Himara where we will make a cultural visit in the Castle of Himara, which rises on a hill of an 1ha area, inhabited since the late Bronze period and surrounded by defensive walls, that began to be built in the 8th century BC and continued without interruption until the later Middle Ages.

After this cultural visit we will be leaving to the tectonic Peninsula of Porto Palermo.

Here we will perform an immersion in the left side of the castle of Ali Pasha. Diving in this place is classified as one of the 10 most beautiful places in Europe, because during the diving here is quite normal to encounter in amphorae and other antiques objects.

After the first immersion we will eat lunch and will have the opportunity to visit the castle of Porto Palermo. Porto Palermo Castle is located in the bay with the same name on the coast of the Ionian Sea in southern Albania, it is located in a very nice position in the tectonic Peninsula of Porto Palermo (in antiquity known as Panorma’s bay). The castle is situated not far from the village of Qeparo and it has a triangular form. Its dimensions are 150 m x 400 m. The height of the walls reach 20 m.

After this visit we will start the journey with our vehicles towards the coastal city of Saranda, where we will accommodate. 


Day 9: 

Saranda - Gjirokaster - Tirana

This will be a day which will be dedicated only to cultural visits and beauties of Albanian nature. During this day we will be able to visit the ancient city of Butrint.

The archaeological site of Butrint’s National Park has an area of 15 hectares and is located at a height from 30 to 50 meters above sea level. This ancient city is a jewel of archeology, listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. In an exceptional environment between the lake and the sea, the Hellenic style buildings are a museum that contains archeological restored traces.

Then we will visit the Blue Eye where we will have lunch. Like a magical place, this source of groundwater is surrounded by woods and enjoys its name of blue color, like the colored part of the eye. This is one of the most beautiful natural curiosities of Albania.

Our journey will lead us to the town of Gjirokastra otherwise known as the city of stone. City of Gjirokastra is included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO in 2005, as one of the few surviving examples of commercial cities in the Balkan’s Ottoman style. We also will have the opportunity to visit the city's fortress.

The Castle of Gjirokastra, associated with the city of Gjirokastra, is mentioned for the first time as a city and a castle in 1336.

Late in the afternoon we will departure towards the Albanian capital, Tirana, where we will accommodate in a hotel restaurant near the city center. 

Day 10: 

Tirana - Bizet Field

Early morning we will take our 4 x 4 vehicles, modified to handle the off road terrain, among them 2 are special because they have participated in all Rally Albania Competitions since this tradition was first created in Albania.

During this adventure you can drive yourself these means, normally accompanied by a copilot who will support you for a correct direction.

For lunch we will have barbecue, somewhere near the fields of Bizet, where it will be our final destination.

In the afternoon we will return in Tirana where we will visit the broad boulevards, the monumental mosaic that decorate the National Museum walls, the glory of Albanian Independence. A small deviation toward the Block zone, referred to the previous nomenclature of the communist regime in Albania, and a visit in the house of the ex-dictator Enver Hoxha. This is the most vibrant area in the city, with many bars, clubs, restaurants, etc...


Day 11: 

Tirana - "Nene Tereza" Airport

Depending on your flight schedule we will leave toward “Nene Tereza" Airport.
